In the middle of a spin, you aren't dizzy;
you keep turning to stay balanced, eyes
whipped to one focus, one spot sustains.
If you lose sight, if that light flickers or fades,
you see the swirling world and the inevitable
unraveling blinds you until the end of the fall.
All the blinks of men left me kneeling until
I caught my own eye in the mirror.
